CPN (UML) meeting concluded

The third meeting of the Central Committee of the CPN (UML) concluded today, instructing the leaders and cadres to be enthusiastic for the upcoming local elections.

The meeting that started on Wednesday passed the political report presented by party president KP Sharma Oli with discussion and decided on various 11-point agendas. The meeting has directed the subordinate committee to go to the doorsteps of the people and understand their problems bypassing all the agendas unanimously.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Oli had directed that the party ranks should be mobilized with the upcoming election at the center, the party should be made more effective, people should go door to door in the same rhythm and get acquainted with the problems of the people. According to Bishnu Rijal, Deputy Chief of the Central Publicity Department of the CPN-UML, the meeting decided to have at least five speakers in the party's public program, reduce the use of garlands, and food, make the program quicker and keep only the speaker on the platform.

The meeting has passed six criteria of local-level candidates. It is mentioned that the recommendation of the candidate will be made by mid-April and in the case of the ward committee, the recommendation will be made by the village municipality and the district of the village municipality. The Central Committee shall decide on the recommendation of the concerned committee in the case of the head and deputy head of the state, metropolis, and sub-metropolis.

The meeting authorized the Secretariat to finalize the election manifesto as soon as possible. On the occasion of the founding day of the Communist Party (April 26), the party has decided to make public the commitment letter on 753 local levels on the same day and to celebrate the day creatively with respect to the senior communists. A working group comprising Vice President Yubaraj Gyawali, Deputy General Secretaries Pradip Gyawali, and Vishnu Rimal, leaders Devendra Dahal, Prabhu Shah, Manoj Jung Thapa, Yubaraj Khatiwada, Prabha Baral, and Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota has been formed under the coordination of Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel to draft the election manifesto. The meeting has approved the nomination of members in various departments and the annual work plan of the party.
