Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said his candidacy from Gorkha was not related to the matter of a win or defeat in the November 20 election.
He fielded his candidacy from Gorkha to begin a new transformation within the party, Chairperson Dahal asserted on Friday at a training session for the party's leading central members at the party office in Gorkha. "I came to Gorkha to build, transform and save germs of revolution within the party. A win or a defeat is just criticism of reactionaries," he observed.
Claiming that political parties, leaders, and cadres were saddened by his itinerant constituency- from Chitwan to Gorkha, the former Prime Minister maintained that Chitwan was also a constituency where his 'win' was ensured. "There was chaos in Chitwan when his fielding candidacy from Gorkha made the rounds. Not only party leaders and cadres, even within the Nepali Congress, and people's representatives from the CPN (UML) came forward to ensure my victory from Chitwan in the polls. But, reactionaries have created rumors of a defeat," he said.
