Officials of Nepal Bar Association discussed with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'. Officials of Nepal Bar Association, ex-officers and various bar presidents and officials of the valley were present in the discussion held at the Prime Minister's official residence Baluwatar this morning.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal praised the role played by the Bar for the defense of democracy and the constitution and reform of the justice system. During the discussion, the bar officials drew the attention of the Prime Minister to hold a meeting of the Constitutional Council and appoint a Chief Justice as the Supreme Court has had a permanent Chief Justice for 14 months.
Bar President Gopalkrishna Ghimire informed that Bar officials have discussed with the Prime Minister about the formation of parliamentary hearing committee. In response, the Prime Minister expressed his commitment to consult with the officers of the Constitutional Council and call an immediate meeting to initiate initiatives on his part to reach the necessary decision.
