The Election Commission (EC) to conduct regular press briefings on the activities relating to the local level election and EC's preparation for election from tomorrow, Sunday.
The Spokesperson meet will be organized every day at 4:00 pm in the media centre of the EC office, Kantipath. EC Spokesperson Shaligram Tiwari informed that the press briefing was aimed at providing factual information to the media on a regular basis.
The government has already declared to hold the local level election on May 13 and asked the EC to intensify its preparation for conducting the election effectively.
Spokesperson Tiwari further said the media briefing and the subsequent media coverage on election preparation would help build an atmosphere conducive to the election. It would clear the confusion among media and EC, he added.
