Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reappointed the four ministers who lost their positions as the members of the House of Representatives as they were removed from the CPN Maoist Centre, the party they represented.
PM Oli reappointed Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Lekh Raj Bhatta, Prabhu Sah and Gauri Shankar Chaudhary as ministers in his cabinet.
The CPN Maoist Centre members and ministers lost their positions at the Lower House after the party they were elected from sacked them.
The constitution of Nepal also allows a non-parliamentarian to serve as a minister for a maximum of six months.
According to Oli’s press advisor, Surya Thapa the reappointed ministers will be sworn in at the President’s Office amid a function later today.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the CPN Maoist Centre has also removed Home Minister and National Assembly member Ram Bahadur Thapa from the party. He will also lose the lawmaker's position once the National Assembly meeting takes place.
