Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that the government will not back down from its responsibility to abide by the constitution and law.
Understanding the memorandum submitted by the Nepal Civil Servants Union at the Ministry of Home Affairs today, Home Minister Khand said that the government is committed to abide by the law. The union has handed over a memorandum to the Home Minister demanding action against the employees working in various government offices.
"The government's responsibility is to abide by the constitution and the law," he said.
He said that the act of humiliating the civil servants should not be done by anyone. A team led by Union Central Chairman Gopal Prasad Pokhrel had demanded legal action against the perpetrators of non-judicial incidents in Mahottari, Dhankuta, Kailali, Bajhang, Parsa, Sindhupalchowk and Solukhumbu districts.
Protesting against the mistreatment of Assistant Forest Officer Bishwaraj Pandit of Division Forest Office Pahalmanpur Kailali, the union has drawn the attention of the Home Minister for action. "If there are issues of disagreement that need to be discussed and resolved legally, let the government commit itself to fulfilling its responsibilities and duties for the sake of peace and security," the union said in a memorandum to the Home Minister.
