The leadership of Janata Samajwadi Party has been elected as the chairman and vice-chairman of Ekdara village municipality of Mahottari. Dipnarayan Mandal has won the election with 4,499 votes.
His rival Ram Chhabila Sah of the Democratic Socialist Party of Nepal polled 2,411 votes. Similarly, Mahjabi Khatun has won the election with 4,771 votes.
Mahjavi has been elected vice-president for the second time in a row. His nearest rival LOSPA Nepal's Rauksana Khatun polled 2,076 votes.
