Secretariat member of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal, Dharmendra Bastola has said joining government is not priority for the party now.

Talking to mediapersons here today, leader Bastola said further details would be revealed gradually as the 3-point agreement was struck with the government. He however said his party was for extending cooperation to build such government that ensures scientific socialism by resolving the anomalies in parliamentary system.

"It does not mean we don't join government. We help government to take the course of scientific socialism," he stressed, adding that unity among all political parties for country development was imperative at present.

According to him, agreement is a preliminary thing. The political problems would be solved in a peaceful manner and party cadres released and the ban on party lifted.

"Government began releasing party leaders and cadres who were in detention," he said, arguing that his party had a comprehensive draft for solving country problems.

Leader Bastola asserted that his party cadres had no weapons. "There is no point in getting afraid of NCP," he assured.
