Today's meeting of the National Assembly was postponed without entering the agenda due to the obstruction of the CPN (UML).

As soon as the meeting started, UML MP Devendra Dahal said that the meeting of the National Assembly could not proceed as their demands were not addressed. He said that they would not allow the meeting to proceed smoothly as the demands raised by them since the 10th meeting could not be addressed.

He argued that there was no point in holding the meeting as the Speaker of the House of Representatives had not taken any decision regarding the MPs who had taken action. After that, the next meeting of the National Assembly was adjourned till further notice, said CA chairperson Timilsana.

Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has remarked that the opposition CPN (UML) is continuing the retrogressive move by obstructing the continuous parliamentary sittings. Speaking at a program organized by the Socialist Press Organization today, he said that the UML's actions affecting the functioning of the parliament were a continuation of regression.

"They are still on the path of regression. What we are seeing and experiencing in the Hall today is a continuation of regression on their part," said the party president.

The main opposition UML has been obstructing the meeting of the reconstituted House of Representatives. The UML's obstruction has affected the functioning of the parliament. Despite repeated calls by the government to end the stalemate in the parliament, the UML has been continuing its activities of obstructing the parliament.

Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that it is necessary to unite the forces against the attempts being made to take the country back to a regression through UML's actions.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki clarified that a five-party alliance has been formed to end the regression attempt to impose autocracy in the country. Nepali Congress leader Karki said that the strength of the alliance would be further strengthened in the days to come.

CPN (S) Deputy General Secretary Dr. Vijay Poudel clarified that there is no alternative to democracy to ensure people's rights. Rashtriya Janamorcha general secretary Manoj Bhatta said that no one in the country could regress arbitrarily due to the awareness of the people and the development of information technology globally. Chairman of the organization Shambhu Shrestha accused the UML leadership of betraying the country and the people by dissolving the parliament in an unconstitutional manner after weakening the party a year ago.
