The CPN-Maoist Center has prepared to withdraw its support to the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Lila Giri. For that, a parliamentary party meeting has been called at 11 am today.

The Maoist center is preparing to decide to withdraw the government's support from the same meeting. CPN Maoist Center Lumbini Provincial Assembly Parliamentary Party Leader Jokh Bahadur Mahara said that the withdrawal of support to the government will be discussed in today's meeting.

With the support of 56 MPs from 7 parties and 2 independents, Lila Giri of CPN-UML was appointed as the Chief Minister. Giri received the vote of confidence. With the parties in the new coalition withdrawing support, Giri will be in the minority. If Giri fails to get a vote of confidence, the UML-led government will fall.

44 votes are needed for a majority in the 87-member Lumbini state assembly. If the government is formed by an eight-party coalition excluding the UML and the RPP, it will have a majority. Because an eight-party coalition has a majority of 50 votes in the state assembly.

There are 27 members of Congress, 10 of Maoist Center, 3 of JSP, 3 of Janmat, 3 of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party and 4 members of the Civil Liberation Party.
