Earlier, the party had decided to hold its much-awaited national convention from September 1-4 this year.

In the meeting held at the residence of NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, a report along with its interpretation was presented by Ramesh Lekhak.

Lekhak was the coordinator of the active membership study committee formed to look into the disputes of active membership in the party. The committee had prepared a report on the matter.

Other members of the committee such as Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Jivan Pariyar, Pradeep Poudel, Kalyan Kumar Gurung and Yogendra Chaudhary had presented their opinions on the matter, according to the party’s central member, Jivan Pariyar.

As per the report prepared by the Committee, there are 852,711 active members in NC.

The meeting also concluded that the Supreme Court verdict on the restoration of the House of Representatives brought the constitution back on track. The verdict came as per the common will of political parties, media, civil society and aware citizens and the spirit of the constitution.

The meeting also suggested the government move ahead as per people's will and consensus among the ruling parties.
