CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appealed to one and all to extend support for the UML candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

At a programme organised here today to honour the injured ones and families of the martyrs of different political movements, Oli argued that UML's candidate should get a vote for the cause of national interest.

"Presidential election is approaching. The voting should be for the nation. People also should support the UML candidate because the UML is for the cause of the nation, people and national sovereignty. So, I urge the voters to cast their votes for the UML candidate in the presidential election," according to Oli.

Senior leader of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel and UML Vice-Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang have filed their candidacies for the presidential election being held on March 9.

On the occasion, Oli however bemoaned that his party was being chased away from the national and international reactionaries.

He viewed that the families of the victims, martyrs, and those disappeared and injured ones have not got justice after the movements and conflicts that took place under different pretexts. Oli has also asked the state to reveal the status of those missing ones and ensure relief to the victims.

During the event, Bishwashara Dahal, Goma Devkota, Kamala Subedi, Shanti Pakhrin, Sarita Adhikari, Tirtha Gautam and Devi Sunar were honoured from the martyrs' families.
