Chairperson of main opposition CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has said that the government should carry on with the programmes brought by the erstwhile government.
Speaking in today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) asking for a special time, Oli stressed the need for giving continuity to the programmes forwarded by the erstwhile government. Former PM Oli argued that the government has hesitated to carry on with the programmes brought by the previous government due to ill-intention.
He also claimed that the government under his leadership had performed well and put efforts as per the policy, action plan and goal. He has said that he wants the government to work as per the aspiration of the people.
Former Prime Minister Oli shared that his party made election coalition and party unification with liberal and broad-minded spirit in order to achieve the national aspiration of prosperous Nepal.
The CPN UML Parliamentary Party leader further said that distorted activities created due to dissatisfaction within the party, personal interest, ego, frustration created a situation of changing government.
Oli claimed that he was born to serve the people and nation and not to be the Prime Minister. He shared that he got the post of Prime Minister in course of serving people and the nation.
Leader Oli also asserted that he would come back to the post of Prime minister with a clear majority. He said that he did not have any pain and regret while dethroned from the premier post by the order of the apex court.
The former Prime Minister Oli also said that the decision of the court will be discussed gradually.
He said he had only the concern that each body of the state should work remaining in the ambit of the set responsibility and authority.
Chairman Oli also claimed that the erstwhile government under his leadership has done noteworthy tasks in domestic and foreign affairs as well and that should be continued.
He also raised the question on a common minimum programme of the government asking why it was not introduced in the parliament and issued escaping the parliament.
Leader Oli said that the talks between the government and the opposition were discontinued at present.
Former PM Oli raised a question on how the government was going to deal with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
MCC is said to be an innovative and independent US foreign aid agency helping developing countries to fight against poverty through economic development.
“Why is not the government talking of bringing Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulekh areas back now,” he asked, referring to the areas in Darchula district that belong to Nepal but have been encroached upon by India.
