Krishna Thapa of the Rastriya Janamorcha, who has lost his seat at the National Assembly of Gandaki Province, has filed a writ petition against his removal at the Supreme Court.

He has filed a writ stating that he has not renounced his party membership and not gone against the party whip. The writ was registered at the Supreme Court today.

After Rastriya Janamorcha forwarded a letter to the secretariat of the National Assembly informing about Thapa being expelled from the party, Speaker of the Gandaki National Assembly informed the house on Thursday about Thapa being expelled from the party. Consequently, Thapa lost his seat in the assembly.

Rastriya Janamorcha had taken a decision to support the opposition party in the government in the provincial assembly but Thapa had issued a public statement mentioning that he would not support the government.
