The Supreme Court has issued an interim order for an investigation to be conducted against former minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha who has been accused of helping in the release of a landlord who had been accused of racial discrimination.

The Supreme Court has denied issuing an interim order on the writ petition filed by former lawmakers of Lumbini Province. Former lawmakers Dadhiram Neupane and Dinesh Panthi had gone to the apex court after they were sacked by CPN (Maoist Center) for joining the CPN (UML) few months ago.

The former lawmaker duo on July 22 had filed writ petition seeking an order to reinstate them as lawmakers. However, a division bench of justices Deepak Kumar Karki and Hari Prasad Phunyal while hearing the case, denied issuing the interim order as per their demand.
