Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Leela Giri has argued that the plans and programmes of the provincial government are directed at making a prosperous province.
Sustainable development goals (SDGs) were prioritised while preparing the bases of the province's prosperity and the development goals would be fulfilled through political stability, the Chief Minister said.
At an orientation programme organized here on Thursday by Lumbini Province Assembly Secretariat 'on role of province assembly members for resource management for SDGs', Chief Minister Giri shared that his government was making the programmes for achieving the SDGs in a planned manner.
Likewise, Speaker of Lumbini Province Tularam Ghartimagar called for the effective role of all for meeting the SDGs.
Ghartimagar also pledged to make initiatives to draft the laws aligning them with the SDGs.
On the occasion, opposition leader in the Lumbini Province Assembly Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary suggested that the development partners should make pro-people plans.
Former finance minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada and economist Dr Swarnim Wagle facilitated the orientation programme on resource management, planning and development, among others.
