The central committee (CC) meeting of the ruling CPN UML has proposed to finalise the process of party membership renewal by mid-July.
At the CC meeting today, UML General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel presented an organisational report and proposed to renew the party membership and submit it to the party central office by July 20.
General Secretary Pokharel said that the national general convention of the party should be conducted by April 2022 as per the party statute. He has further proposed to hold a statute convention by August 9.
He further purposed to hold ward level convention of the party by August 21 and local levels by August 21. Party CC members are putting forth their opinions on the general secretary’s report.
The 13th CC meeting of the party is ongoing since Friday.
