The main opposition party CPN-UML has urged Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota to postpone the meeting of the House of Representatives convened for 14 February.
On that day, UML has organized a state level meeting in Biratnagar. "The meeting was adjourned and I have requested to postpone the House of Representatives meeting to another day," said Vishal Bhattarai, chief whip of the UML parliamentary party.
He said that the meeting of the House of Representatives should be adjourned as the district in-charge and deputy in-charge, party office bearers and local level chiefs, deputy chiefs and chairpersons, vice chairpersons and all the parliamentarians within the province should participate in the state level meeting.
Meetings of the House of Representatives have been postponed six times since December 22.
The Parliament Secretariat has been postponing the meeting of the House of Representatives, sometimes at the request of political parties and sometimes due to COVID scare.
