Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav assumed office at the Lainchaur-based Green House today. He reached the Green House to assume office shortly after taking an oath of office and secrecy at the Office of President Sheetal Niwas today.
According to the information officer of the Office of the Vice President undersecretary Prabin Poudel, the Vice President formally took charge of office today. On the occasion, the Vice President planted a tree sapling on the Office premises. He was elected Vice President on March 17 through the third vice presidential election.
Brief bio of Vice President
Born to the Sihawa Devi Yadav and the late Prasad Raya Yadav on July 24, 1960, at Kachorwa-8 in Bara district, the Vice-President served as the minister for the forest in the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led cabinet in 2078 BS.
Members of his family include his spouse, two sons, and one daughter. He has two brothers and three sisters.
Prior to this, he was the parliamentary party leader of the Janata Samajbadi Party ( JSP) Nepal.
Yadav, who worked as a school teacher jot for 23 years, gained a political height after the Madesh Movement in particular. He had joined politics from the Nepal Sadbhawana Party.
In the general election on November 20, 2022, Yadav was elected the House of Representatives (HoR) member from Bara constituency no.-2. As a teacher, Yadav taught mathematics and science at Panna Devi Kanya Secondary School at Kalaiya, Bara.
The Vice-President earned his B.SC degree from Sitamadhi College in India and B.Ed from Thakurram Multiple Campus, Birgunj.
He joined the Sadbhawana Party in 2047 BS with his conviction that the party had been working for the cause of Tarai-Madhes.
In the course of his political journey, he was affiliated with Madhesi People's Rights Forum in 2059 BS and was elected as the Constituent Assembly (CA) member in 2064 BS. Also, he was elected the party's general secretary in 2065 BS. During his recent political portfolio, he was also the parliamentary party leader of the Janata Samajbadi Party.
As a representative of the government and his party, the Vice-President has visited the United States of America, Poland, the UK, Belgium, UAE, and other countries.
