Influence of Westerly wind: Rainfall forecast till Wednesday

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy with light rainfall occurring at most places due to the influence of Westerly wind in the coming three days.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has stated that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy with light rainfall occurring at most places due to the influence of Westerly wind in the coming three days.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said there are chances of cloudy weather with light rainfall in many places of the country until Wednesday due to the impact of the Westerly wind. "There is no possibility of heavy rainfall and there is little possibility of sunny days till Wednesday," he said. This weather system will start weakening from Wednesday.  

Light rain occurred in Kathmandu this morning while high hilly and mountainous districts witnessed light snowfall. The weather is generally cloudy throughout the country at present. It will be generally cloudy throughout the country in the afternoon with light to moderate snowfall taking place in the high hilly and mountainous districts as well as light rain occurring in most places of the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Province 1. 

As per the latest weather bulletin shared by the Division, the minimum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was 2.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 20.5 degrees Celsius.

According to the Division, the lowest minimum temperature throughout the country was recorded in Jiri at minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, and the highest minimum temperature was recorded in Dharan at 13.8 degrees Celsius today.
