Church Boys United Club of Nepal lost to Paro FC of Bhutan in the match held under the preliminary stage of the AFC Challenge League football tournament.
Paro FC defeated Church Boys by 2-1 in the match held today at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar of Kathmandu. The visitor's came from behind to turn the match in their favour.
Home team, Church Boys United took the lead through a goal by Laken Limbu in the 38th minute of the first half. He found the post after converting a header pass from Moses Gaba in the penalty box.
However, the lead could not last long, as Kinga Wangchuk leveled the score with a goal in the 40th minute. William Opoku then made it 2-1 in the 66th minute, which won the match for the visitors.
With the win, Paro FC has entered the group stage of the competition while Church Boys has been eliminated. This is the first time that a Bhutanese club has defeated a Nepali club in a senior level competition.
