The Nepali national cricket team defeated Canada today in the first day's match. Nepal won the first match of the ODI series by 7 runs.
While chasing the target of 225 runs presented by Nepal in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Canada was bowled out for 217 runs in the 48th over.
Today Nepal's captain Rohit Paudel took 4 wickets. Lalit Rajvanshi took 2 wickets and Sompal Kami, Rijan Dhakal, Pawan Sarraf and Kushal Malla took 1 wicket each. Udaya Bhagwan took the most 3 wickets for Canada.
Before that, Nepal, who won the toss and batted first, made a total of 224 runs. Nepal's opener Kushal Bhurtel scored the highest 62 runs. Similarly, Arif Sheikh contributed 38 runs.
Some of the spectators who came to watch the cricket match in Kirtipur today raised slogans in favor of Sandeep Lamichhane, the cricketer who was sentenced to 8 years in jail by the Kathmandu District Court on charges of rape. The police also arrested the spectators.
