Madhes state government has announced to provide two lakhs to international player Asif Sheikh.
Britain's Maryleburn Cricket Club presented Asif with the 'Christopher Martin Jenkins Spirit of Cricket Award'. Madhesh Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav has announced a cash award to him.
Asif, a resident of Birganj, showed sportsmanship and did not run out even when he had the opportunity to run out Irish player Andy McBrien in the T20 international match against Ireland on February 14, 2022. The International Cricket Council also awarded him the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award 2022.
