First captain of Nepali women's cricket team announces retirement
Janaki (Banke), March 19: The first captain of the Nepali National Women's Cricket Team, Neri Thapa, has announced retirement from cricket. She made the announcement through the social media.
A resident of Nepalganj sub-metropolitan city, Thapa played cricket for almost 17 years.
Nepali was the capital of the Nepali National Women's Cricket Team that played its first international match against Thailand in 2007. Under her captaincy, Nepal won the ACC U-19 Women's Championship in 2008 and 2010.
Of late, Neri had been playing domestic cricket tournaments representing the Armed Police Force (APF) club.
