India will not be able to play in the SAFF Women's Championship to be held in Kathmandu after the International Football Federation FIFA banned the Indian Football Association. Countries banned by FIFA cannot participate in international competitions. Therefore, India, the winner of the previous tournament, will not be able to play in the SAFF Women's Championship to be held in Kathmandu from September 14. India was the former winner of SAFF.
FIFA lifted the ban on Pakistan just two months ago.
Since 2010, women's regional competition has not been won by any other country except India. India defeated Nepal four times out of five in the final.
