Under ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, Papua New Guinea has presented a target of 96 runs for victory against Nepal. After Sandeep Lamichhane took five wickets alone, Papua New Guinea's innings were completed by 95 runs.

Nepal won the toss and invited Papua New Guinea to bat at the Tribhuvan University cricket ground in Kirtipur today.

Papua New Guinea played 32 overs in the scheduled 50-over match and scored only 95 runs after losing all wickets. Batters of Papua New Guinea proved to be harmless against the Nepalese bowlers. Papua New Guinea lost two important wickets in the beginning. Hiri Hiri, Sese Bau, captain Asad Bhala and Charles Amini tried to handle the innings to some extent. But the Nepali bowlers did not let them play openly. Bhala scored 20, Baule 18, Amini 16 and Hiri 14. Other batters could not score significant runs.

On the bowling side, Lamichhane took five wickets for Nepal. He spent only 25 runs keeping a maiden while bowling 10 overs. Similarly, Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi and Kushal Malla took two wickets and Sompal Kami took one wicket.
