Minu Gurung of Nepal Army and Sanjumaya Thing of APF Club have entered the quarterfinals of the ongoing Ganeshman Singh Memorial National Boxing Championship in Kathmandu.
In the women's 51 kg weight category, Gurung defeated Ramisha Shrestha of Madhesh Province in a match played on Tuesday. She is also the gold medalist of the 13th South Asian Games (SAGS). Similarly, Sanjumaya Thing of APF defeated Susmita Shrestha of Province No. 1 to enter the quarterfinals.
In the women's 57 kg weight category, Swastika Thiruva of Bagmati defeated Sushila Thapa of Karnali whereas Susmita Rai of Province No. 1 defeated Sanjita Chaudhary of Far Western Province. Both have entered the quarterfinals.
Similarly, Akash Rana of Gandaki defeated Suraj Oli of Lumbini and Pradip Maharjan of APF defeated Mohan Gurung of Karnali in the men's 52 kg weight category. Similarly, Shambhu Rajbanshi of Nepal Police Club defeated Ram Bahadur Thapa of Far Western Province and Puran Rai of APF defeated Marshall Gurung of Bagmati Province in the men's 57 kg weight category. Both have entered the quarterfinals.
In the men's 63 kg weight category, Sonam Sarki of APF defeated Virendra Rawal of Far West and Anil Pun Magar of Lumbini defeated Towin Pradhan of Province No. 1 to reach the quarterfinals. In the men's 69 kg weight category., Bikram Chaudhary of APF defeated Sachin Shakya of Madhesh Province and Vikas Rana Magar of Lumbini defeated Sunil BK of Gandaki.
Likewise, in the men's 75 kg weight category, Deepesh Lama of Nepal Army defeated Ganesh Sunar of Lumbini to enter the quarterfinals. In the men's 75 kg weight category, Deepesh Lama of Nepal Army defeated Ganesh Sunar of Lumbini to enter the quarterfinals.
