Nepal will play the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup football qualifying tournament in Group B.
The tie sheet of the fifth edition of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifying tournament made public by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has included Nepal, Iran, Tajikistan and Lebanon in the 'Group B' of the West Zone section.
The tournaments of Group B will be held in Tajikistan. This is the fifth time Nepal are taking part in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup football qualifying competition. Nepal have not been qualified for the AFC U-23 until now.
A total of 23 countries have been divided into six groups for the qualifying tournament.
There are four countries listed in each of the five groups while one of the groups has only three countries. Likewise, 19 countries in the East Zone section have been divided into five groups. The qualifying matches will be held from upcoming October 23 to 31.
The AFC U-23 Asian Cup tournament will be held in Uzbekistan between June 1–19 in 2022. The organising country Uzbekistan will not have to play the qualifying matches.
A total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament. South Korea are the defending champions.
