Oman has booked a place for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, 2024, defeating Bahrain by 10 wickets in the semifinal today under the Asia Qualifier. Co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States, the Word Cup will take place from June 4 to 30, 2024.
The match was organised at the Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground. Oman achieved the victory target of 107 runs posted by Bahrain in 14.1 overs without any wicket loss. For the winning team, Kashyap Kumar Prajapati hit highest 57 runs off 44 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. Similarly, Prathik Athavale made 48 off 41 with four boundaries and one six.
Bahrain made 106 runs in allotted 20 overs at the loss of nine wickets. For the team, Imran Ali Butt made 30, Ahmer Bin Naser 26, and Sarfraz Ali 23. For Oman, Aaqib Ilyas Sulheri took four wickets singlehandedly while Shakeel Ahmad two. Similarly, Ahmad Fayyaz Butt and Zeeshan Maqsood claimed one each.
