Palesha qualified for the Paris Para Olympics

Nepali Taekwondo player Palesha Gobardhan has qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympics with a historic gold medal.

Palesha has been selected for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with a gold medal from the Asian Qualification Tournament.

 Palesha scored 18 points in the first game. Her opponent Karima Melikuzieva (Uzbekistan) got only 2 points. In the final, Palesha got 5 points and Iran's Leila Mirzaee got 4 points.

Palesha has been playing in the Nepal Taekwondo Association since 2016 in the National Para Taekwondo Team.

Palesha won a historic gold medal in the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain. She won two fights in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games by defeating American and Serbian players. She also won a historic bronze medal for Nepal in the 4th Asian Para Games and also awarded a bronze medal in the Asian Para Taekwondo Championship.

Volunteer coach Kabiraj Negi Lama has been training Palesha since the age of 13, from the first international competition in the 3rd Asian Para Taekwondo Championship in Korea to the qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
