The Group A match of the ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup Global Qualifiers will be played in Oman from tomorrow.
In the match to be played at Academy 1 of Oman, Nepal will face Oman on Friday with the objective of achieving victory. Nepal had earlier played a four-nation T20 series in preparation for the World Cup global selection. Nepal had defeated Oman by 6 wickets.
In the other match of the same series, United Arab Emirates (UAE) lost by 25 runs and Ireland by 16 runs. Before that, Nepal last played Oman in a T20 match in 2019, in which Oman defeated Nepal by 6 wickets.
Eight different nations are participating in Group A of the World Cup Global Selection. The hosts are Oman, Nepal, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Ireland, the Philippines, and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The eight teams have also been divided into two groups. Group 1 includes Nepal, Canada, the Philippines, and Oman, while Group 2 includes UAE, Bahrain, Ireland, and Germany. The two finalists will qualify for the T20 World Cup in Australia from October 16 to November 13.
The Nepali team consists of Sandeep Lamichhane (captain), Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airy, Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Bheshavkar, Arif Sheikh, Jitendra Mukhiya, Abhinash Bohra, Kamal Singh Airy, Vivek Yadav, Sagar Dhakal, Lokesh Bam, and Gulshan Jha. Kushal Malla, Sahib Alam, and Pradip Aiyr are the substitutes.
