'An Exhibition for Purpose' in Nepal Art Council

Paintings by 20 senior fine artists have been put on display at the Nepal Art Council at Babarmahal in Kathmandu, a first exhibition at the Council post lockdown.

Council organized the exhibition themed 'An Exhibition for Purpose' with an objective to provide an impetus to fine art sector hit hard by COVID-19 pandemic.

Inaugurated on last Monday, the exhibition displays the paintings that encapsulate the Nepali culture traditions, natural beauty and human values among others the paintings painted by renowned painters KK Karmacharya, Kiran Manandhar, Ragini Upadhyay, Pramila Giri, Shashi Shah, Hari Khadka and Chanda Shrestha and the like.

The paintings put on display have incorporate various styles of Nepali art and the exhibition is expected to breath a new life into the art sector that were adversely affected by the COVID-19, said Council's member Jivan Rajopadhyay.

The Council will organize more such events in coming days to revive the art sectors and to show the paintings by various painters, old, young, professional or amateurs.

The exhibition will run till February 10.
