The air services of Baitadi, which had been closed for over a month and a half, have resumed operations. The Dhangadhi-Baitadi-Dhangadhi flights were temporarily closed on December 31.

Patan Airport liaison person Krishna Bhatta informed that the air service had been closed for a month and a half due to bad weather and lack of passengers. He said, "Air services were not possible due to lack of passengers and unfavorable weather. It came into operation after the weather improved." According to Bhatta, a plane carrying 13 passengers came from Dhangadhi and left with 18 passengers today.

Baitadi-Dhangadhi flights are scheduled on every Friday. In the last one and a half months, the flights had been canceled due to rain, snow and fog in the Hilly and Terai regions. As the weather is getting clearer, regular flights will be operated every Friday from now.

Last year also, the air service was closed for a month due to bad weather.

Patan Airport was re-opened after 26 years in October 2020. The construction work of the airport in Patan started in 1976 and the air service was started from 1979. Later, the airport was closed since 1996. At that time, the airport was closed due to lack of transportation networks in the hilly district.
