'Golden Triangle Bike Tour' has been organised here on the occasion of the World Tourism Day 2023. As part of the preparation for the second edition of the Nepal Tourism Festival, the Nepal Tourism Promotion (NTP) Multimedia Group organised a bike tour for the first time in collaboration with Xpulse Riders Nepal Club. In coordination with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), 100 people from various walks of life including artists, litterateurs and bike riders will participate in the tour, said the NTB executive officer Dhananjaya Regmi. The participants will tour on bikes through Kathmandu-Hetauda-Chitwan-Lumbini-Palpa-Pokhara.
On the occasion, the bike tour is an opportunity to make Nepal known at the international level, he said. Similarly, Achyut Guragain, member of the tourism committee, said the bike tour is a powerful way to promote the tourism sector.
As part of the tour, the team of bike riders started their ride from Kathmandu and visited the Makawanpur Gadhi Durbar, a tourist spot in Makawanpur. On the occasion, Bakhansingh Pakhrin, chair of Makawanpur Gadhi Rural Municipality-2, expressed the hope that the bike tour would help in promoting the country's important tourist destinations and giving a positive message about tourism at the international level.
Recalling the event wherein he welcomed bicycle riders in Makawanpur Gadhi last year, he said the rural municipality would provide assistances in publicising tourist spots and promoting tourism.
The tour is scheduled to visit various tourist destinations and will reach Pokhara in five days. The motorcycle tour will be concluded at Lake Side in Pokhara as part of the preparation and branding of the second edition of the Nepal Tourism Festival to be held in three months in Pokhara.
