The government will be reopening international flights to six countries. International flights will be permitted to those countries where there is a substantial number of Nepali migrant workers.

The meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) held on Wednesday took a decision to this effect. The meeting was held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar and chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairperson of CCMC.

The CCMC meeting has decided to reopen flights to UAE, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Japan and Malaysia. However, the CCMC has mentioned that each week only 2,000 passengers will be allowed to fly to these destinations.

The meeting has also decided to provide financial aid to those migrant workers who do not have the money to stay in hotel quarantine.
