Lhakpa Sherpa, world record female climber returns to base camp

Lhakpa Sherpa, the most successful female climber and record holder to climb Mt. Everest 10 times so far was welcome back at Everest Base Camp. When she returned to the base camp from the summit, she was greeted by climbers from different countries.

During the Summit of Mount Everest she dressed as Santa Claus. She also displayed the flag of USA, where she has been living since a few years.

Sherpa is also a high altitude mountaineering teacher, this time she has three students, one boy and two girls. She wants to climb the mountain next year as well.



She said that she would be willing to teach such a person if someone joined her team next year. This time she was accompanied by her 15-year-old daughter Shiny and niece Jangmu to the Everest base camp.


Meanwhile, Nayla Nasir Ahmed has become the first woman from the United Arab Emirates to climb Mt. Everest. She reached the summit of Everest at 8 am yesterday and is now returning to base camp from the summit.
