Manakamana cable cars closed for four days

Manakamana cable car will be closed for four days. The cable car service will be closed for four days from Sunday as the gearbox and tower will have to be repaired during the upgrade.

According to Ujjwal Sherchan, Deputy General Manager of Manakamana Darshan, the cable car service will be closed from December 19 to 22. He said that the cable car service will resume regular operation from Thursday, December 23 after the maintenance is completed.

The restaurant service at Cable Car Bottom Station will remain the same during that period. The company plans to upgrade the analog connect system used in cable cars to digital systems. The company has stated that it is planning to upgrade the cable cars to new technology from the current fiscal year.
