Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has agreed to ferry Indians who have been stuck in Nepal to Saudi Arabia. The national flag carrier has informed that on the request of the Indian Embassy it has scheduled seven flights for the purpose.

The flights have been scheduled from May 18 to May 22.

Most of the Indian nationals who are stranded now had come to Nepal before the country imposed restrictions on international flights from midnight on May 6. The government had imposed the restrictions to curb the spread of the second wave of the coronavirus in the country.

To evacuate the Indians who have been stranded here the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has given permission for 10 flights. Seven flights will be conducted by NAC while the remaining three will be conducted by Himalaya Airlines.

Karishma Shrestha, Director and Spokesperson of NAC, mentioned that the flights are being conducted as per a directive from the Foreign Ministry and in coordination with the Indian Embassy. She informed that the national flag carrier has scheduled five flights to Riyadh and two to Dammam.
