Nepal's first 'Sky Cafe' has come into operation in the district headquarters Kushma Bazaar. The Sky Cafe has been brought into operation for the first time in Nepal on the world's second tallest bungee jump bridge established by The Cliff Company over the Kaligandaki River.

The construction and operating company of the bungee jump in Kaligandaki has stated that the cafe has been brought begun operation. According to Raju Karki, the operator of The Cliff, the wire has been hung on a high cliff along the river bank of Kaligandaki, similar to the wire used for sky cycling. In the cafe, benches and tables have been constructed by attaching wooden flakes to the iron. The same table is hung on the wire through the girni, the 'cafe' is slowly moving through the girni on the wire above the scary star.

Customers staying there will be able to travel in the open air, eating the food they have 'ordered' at the start of the journey. The Cliff has become synonymous with other adventure sports, including bungee jumping. We're working on building as different but adventurous games and infrastructure as possible. Sky Cafe is built on this same concept," said Karki.

Yuvraj Joshi, another operator of The Cliff, said that the Sky Cafe was operating at a height of 228 meters above the Kaligandaki river level. He said that even in the early stages when there was no publicity, an average of 50 people used to sit in the Sky Cafe and drink juice and coffee daily. Stating that they have invested around Rs 9.5 million for the cafe alone, he informed that a fee of Rs 2,500 per person has been set. According to operator Joshi, the cafe has been operated by laying 120 meters long wire over the Kaligandaki river. As it is just the beginning, discussions are underway to make more adventures in the coming days.

Business is less affected by the current wave of Covid-19 infections than the previous one. Despite the ban, health safety precautions have been taken due to smart lockdown and the market has not come to a standstill as before. According to Ishwar Karki, who has been overseeing the administrative work of the company, vaccination card has been made mandatory for those who come to all kinds of adventure sports. It has been kept in operation by allowing only a small number of tourists to enter by taking turns. Due to that, the sector does not have to remain closed like in the previous phase of the transition, he said.

"In the past, we had to shut down, but now we don't have to suffer because of smart lockdowns," he said. Tourists have all benefited. ” Despite the Corona infection, daily bungee jumping and swinging are equally crowded, the company said.
