President Bidya Devi Bhandari has visited Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve this afternoon. President Bhandari arrived at Dhorpatan by Nepali Army's chopper and visited the office, according to the Reserve office.
On the occasion, Chief Conservation Officer of the Reserve, Birendra Prasad Kandel, and Chief of Nepali Army's Shartumardan Company, Major Govinda Bista, briefed President Bhandari about Reserve's activities and security situation.
Kandel said that the President also visited the museum at the Reserve and also enjoyed observing the landscape of Dhorpatan Valley.
Chief District Officer, Shiva Kumar Karki, shared that security and managerial arrangement have been made smooth at the Reserve in view of the President's visit. Office-bearers of government agencies, including chiefs of security bodies under the leadership of CDO, Karki, had reached Dhorpatan on Friday itself before the visit of the Head of the State.
Dhorpatan is the only place in the country having a hunting reserve. It has covered an area of 1,325 square feet. It is believed that the President's visit would help make significant development and promotion of the Dhorpatan area.
