8 students of the second batch, eighth semester of Bachelor of Mountaineering studies conducted by Nepal Mountain Academy under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation have successfully climbed Himalung (7126 meters). The success achieved by 8 people at the same time is the first in the world in the climb of 21 undergraduate students. Pick Promotion Pvt Ltd handled the expedition.
study research program including the climbing of mountains above 7000 meters in the academic program affiliated to Tribhuvan University. Nepal Mountain Academy is the only institution that offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in mountaineering including climbing.
Before this, the students successfully climbed and studied Mera Peak (6476 meters) in the sixth semester and Cherguri Peak (4983 meters) in the fourth semester. Bachelor of Mountaineering Studies (BMS), Master of Adventure Studies (MATS), and Master of Science in Mountain and Mountaineering Science (M.Sc. MMS) are being taught at the graduate level in the academy. Trekking guides, ski training, contact officer training, and high mountain climbing training have also been given in the training.
