The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has decided to terminate the appointment of all tourism goodwill ambassadors.
All such appointments are scrapped from the tourism minister-level decision, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati announced.
According to Minister Kirati, all the sitting goodwill ambassadors have been terminated by approving the Tourism Promotion Relating Procedures, 2079 BS. However, the new procedure has opened the avenues for their reappointment after fulfilling the processes.
Earlier, tourism goodwill ambassadors were appointed prior to the enactment of the procedures. The Ministry has also replaced the term 'goodwill ambassadors' with the 'tourism promoters'.
Likewise, the Ministry has decided to write to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for making initiatives to make flights to different cities of India from Nepalgunj Airport.
