Nepalis in Afghanistan

The government has confirmed that all Nepalis in Afghanistan were safe.

The rescue operation has been taking place on the basis of the registration of the details of Nepalis on the web portal of the Department of Consular Services.

At least 300 Nepalis in Afghanistan have registered their details, request support to return home.

With the arrival of 17 more Nepalis from the capital city of Afghanistan on Thursday, a total of 305 Nepalis have been rescued.

Minister for Home Affairs, Bal Krishna Khand, has directed the authorities concerned to prepare for the repatriation of Nepalis living in Afghanistan.

An inter-ministerial meeting held in coordination with the chief secretary of the government has formed a taskforce to rescue and evacuate Nepalis from Afghanistan.

The International Relations Committee under the House of Representatives has instructed the government to resort to all diplomatic means for the immediate and safe rescue of all Nepalis in Afghanistan.
