There has been a significant increase in the export of Nepali goods to India and third countries using the country's main trade gateway, Birgunj Customs. Compared to the first four months of the last fiscal year, the export of Nepali goods via the checkpoint has more than doubled in the same period of the current fiscal year. During the four months from Shrawan to Kartik of Fiscal Year 2077/78, various goods worth Rs. 12.44 billion were exported.

Sumit Gupta, an information officer at the office, said that the export of Nepali goods to India and third countries has increased as the effects of the coronavirus have been declining in the world. He said that most of the exports are refined soybean oil, refined palm oil, fruit juice, refined sunflower oil, soybean drink, and herbs. Along with the increase in exports of Nepali goods, its effect has also been seen in revenue collection. The office had collected Rs. 43.67 billion in revenue in the first four months of the last fiscal year. In the current fiscal year, it has managed to collect Rs. 70.12 billion.
