The high-level committee formed to investigate the matter about the sale of Ncell shares has formally started probing the matter from Sunday.

Coordinator of the five-member committee, Tankamani Sharma, shared that the committee had initiated the study as per the mandate given by the government to conclude the investigation within specified timeline and submit a report with suggestions.

The committee, according to coordinator Sharma, would hold discussions with the related regulatory agencies, government officials and service provider companies during the investigation.

During the process, they will collect necessary documents and information from the concerned individuals and organizations as well as solicit views and suggestions from the experts, stakeholders organizations and individuals

Everyone concerned has been appealed to cooperate with the committee in the probe by providing factual information and any evidences related to the issue.

The probe body has its secretariat at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and is mandated to present its report within 30 days of its formation.

It may be noted that the government on December 7 had formed the probe panel to study and investigate the issues related to the Ncell's share and purchase, its compliance with the existing laws and impact on the revenue collection and foreign investment in Nepal among others.
