Minister for Finance Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has emphasized that the government and private sector should coordinate efforts to remove difficulties in the country's economy.
Congratulating the newly elected office-bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) here on Monday, Minister Mahat asserted that the government and private sector should support each other for the same.
"The entrepreneurs feel uncomfortable, difficult, and pressurized at present. I understand there are some obstacles and disturbances. The government and private sector should work together to remove the difficulties," stressed Mahat, urging cooperation among one and all at the time of difficulty like now.
He admitted that the government has not been able to deliver as it should. "We, from political leadership to bureaucracy should admit it. I am ready to admit it. We must bring about good changes in the economy. There is a challenge to increase the efficiency of the country," the Minister viewed.
According to him, there were many issues at present due to a lack of compatibility between the matters to be addressed in the economic sector, other political issues, and financial obligations.
He argued, "What is the most important thing at present is how we analyze the reality and contemplate how we can contribute from our respective sector to the national economy?"
The Minister shared that he had held formal and informal discussions with the leadership of the Nepal Rastra Bank to revitalize the national economy. He expressed confidence that the economic indicators would continue to improve gradually.
