Nepal stock exchange index rises by 23.97 points

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index increased by 23.97 points today, the last trading day of the week. The share market closed at 2,825.10 points today.

The sensitive index too expanded by 0.84 per cent or 4.41 points to rest at 529.66 points. Similarly, the float index went up by 1.09 per cent or 2.1 points to land at 195.41 points. A total of 13,143,240 shares of 223 listed firms were traded today through 51,868 transactions.

The total turnover today stood at over Rs 4.81 billion.

Besides others and trading sub-indices, all the other subgroups at Nepse witnessed gains today. Trading dropped by 0.55 per cent or 20.6 points to rest at 3,724.14 points whereas other subgroups declined by 0.55 per cent or 12.01 points to end the day at 2,163 points.

Meanwhile, the finance sub-index was the biggest gainer of the day rising by 3.09 per cent or 64.95 points to 2,165.33 points. The other subgroup that witnessed a considerable rise was development banks which increased by 2.12 per cent or 89.57 points to close the day at 4,311.91 points.
