Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" had directed the Ministry of Finance to come up with a proposal for a systematic solution to the problem, stressing that millions of depositors were harassed when the problem of cooperatives was addressed.
The Prime Minister gave this instruction in a discussion held at Singh Durbar on Monday afternoon.
The Prime Minister said, "Millions of depositors have suffered because the problem of cooperatives is not solved quickly. How do we address their problems? Make a solid proposal about it."
In the meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat said that Nepal Rastra Bank should decide to regulate cooperatives above the fixed ceiling.
In the meeting, Chief Secretary Dr. Baikunth Aryal said that it is necessary to give a practical form to the legal arrangement of the deposit fund to regulate the cooperative to solve the problem of the cooperative.
