Park Chairperson Govinda Thapa informed at a press meet on Wednesday that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the estate. The estate being set up at the border of Damak Municipality-10, Kamal Rural Municipality-7 and Gauradaha Municipality-5 will cover 1,300 bighas of land. Nepal government has acquired the land for it.

The government has already granted permission to bring in some Rs 65 billion Chinese investment for the park construction. Thapa further informed that it would be completed in two years. For the acquisition of land, the locals have been compensated with Rs 1.36 billion so far. The land has been taken on lease by the government for 40 years.

It is believed that 45,000 Nepalis will be employed directly after the construction of the industrial park where there will be factories for agriculture, textile, and electronic goods. The products will be exported.
