Khalti Digital Wallet, in collaboration with Social Security Fund (SSF), now has made it possible for employees and employers of both government and private offices to pay SSF funds directly from Khalti app. Khalti has introduced this service in its application to digitise every payment method in Nepal.
The arrangement was implemented after an agreement between Jonaam Bhurtel, Assistant Manager of Khalti Digital Wallet, and Kapilmani Gyawali, Executive Director of Social Security Fund. This service will make it easier for both employees and employers of private and government offices. They can deposit their own or their employees’ contributions to the SSF through Khalti without any hassle. The amount has to be paid by the 15th of every month. In case the employee makes a claim from SSF when they haven’t made the payment, the organisation has to pay a fine of a certain amount.
Speaking about the agreement, Buhrtel shared, "Along with technological advancement, we are enhancing our online payment system to serve our customers better in Nepal. Now, employees do not necessarily have to physically be available at the office or banks to deposit their funds. Especially, amidst COVID-19, the service has made it easy for people to make contactless payment. The organisations affiliated with the Social Security Fund can directly make payment from home using Khalti.”
Likewise, SSF’s Gyawali said, “We are very thankful to be able to provide this facility to all the employees living across the country. This service has helped to enhance the prestige of both Khalti Digital Wallet and Social Security Fund. Without the technical and management team’s hard work, this service would not have been possible. Therefore, I would like to thank the entire team from the bottom of my heart.”
